| Rice Bran Ceramics_ RBC is a newly developed field that combines previously discarded rice husks, or bran with a thermosetting resin that is then superheated and ground to a powder. This powder is added to the Redstorm's tread compound. With the integration of IRC's exclusive Rice Bran Ceramic, traction, weight and durability are all enhanced.
Increased Traction_ The small pieces of Rice Brand Ceramic orient randomly throughout the tire tread. Each RBC grain contains needles that create a "micro-spike" (effectively poking into the road surface) and "micro-pores" which act as mini suction cups, and grip the surface in a second way.
Decreased Weight_ Compared to other common rubber compound additives such as silica or carbon, Rice Bran Ceramic possesses a lower molecular weight thanks to its porous structure and yields a lighter tire.
Durability_ Longer tire life means changing out fewer tires. RBC also boasts a greater life span than more common rubber compounds. And because the Rice Bran Ceramic is found throughout the rubber compound, the benefits do not diminish as the tread is worn away through normal use. |
