Haywood gold and Wells silver at Pan Am Games on IRC
April 26th Pan Am Games Banos, Ecuador. Trek/VW’s Sue Haywood captures her first victory of the season, but more importantly she gains valuable UCI points in her quest to make the U.S. Olympic team. Haywood won the women’s Mountain Bike Cross-Country event over Olympic hopefuls Mary McConneloug and former World Champion, Alison Dunlop. Haywood used the IRC Mythos 2.1 Front in the front and rear of her Trek Fuel.

GT/Hyundai’s Todd Wells is beginning to recover form the he lost due to illness. Proof of that was his silver medal performance at the Pan Am games. Wells second place ride puts him that much closer to gaining one of two U.S. Olympic spots for the Men’s Mountain Bike team. Wells was second to current U.S. National Champion Jeremy Horgan-Kobelski. Wells used the IRC 2.1 Serac XC tubeless tire.
