Hesjedal wins on IRC
NORBA #1 Waco Tx, March 13th Subaru/Fisher’s Ryder Hesjedal out sprints Haro’s Shamus McGrath for his first victory of the season in the men’s short track cross country. Hesjedal and McGrath attacked soon after the start and were joined by Maxxis rider Geoff Kabush. The three riders stayed away from the field for the rest of the race. McGrath and Hesjedal rode away from Kabush on the last lap, setting up a two up sprint for the finish. Hesjedal was able to take an inside line in the last corner to gain an advantage over McGrath for his sprint victory.
Ryder was using a brand new IRC prototype tire for the race and said the new tire allowed him to take a more aggressive line into the final corner.
