Q. What is the difference between black colored sidewall Mythos and rust colored sidewall Mythos?
A. Black walled Mythos tires are manufactured in Korea. Rust wall Mythos tires are manufactured in Japan. The rust wall Mythos tire features CAF casing. CAF casing incorporates the addition of carbon fiber threads into the tire. This increases tire strength without adding weight. The black threads visible in the tire sidewall are the carbon fiber threads. The rust colored Mythos is coated with Aramid chips. This coating makes the sidewall more resistant to abrasions.

The Japanese manufactured Mythos also incorporates our Hybrid Tread Compound (HTC). HTC is a dual compound that features a high grip side knob compound and a low rolling resistant center knob compound. This means high grip while cornering and low rolling resistance when going straight.

The black sidewall colored Mythos does not have the same features as the rust colored Mythos. The black walled mythos features a 66TPI nylon casing and a high durability, high performance tread compound. These features make the black wall Mythos one of the best performing values in mountain biking.
